Yesterday evening: rain, real rain!
Still not very much, not even enough to really register in the rain gauge (although that seems rather suspicious to me; I’ll be checking the rain gauge for leaks), but it rained a bit beginning at 7 pm, and then more at 9 pm, and then more on and off through at least the early part of the night. Our rain barrels have water in them again! All the plants got watered. The ground is actually damp!
The monsoon has been trying to set up. We have had clouds gathering every afternoon and one or two quick downbursts of rain in the last 10 days. But yesterday evening is the first time (since August? When I have time I’ll look at the weather archive to find out) that we have had clouds arrive and then rain on us steadily for any amount of time.
