This site is written & hosted by Alan & Kathleen Clute, for the enjoyment of those who own property at Deer Canyon Preserve, near Mountainair, New Mexico. It is especially intended for property owners who aren't living here yet, or who are in the planning or building phases. Alan mostly takes the photos and does forum support; Kathleen mostly writes news and weather reports. So unless otherwise specified, "we" means the Clutes, and "I" means Kathleen.
We have been living in Deer Canyon Preserve since late December 2005. We were the second couple in residence, and as our friends the first couple in residence moved back to New England (abandoning us!), we are the longest-in-residence folks. This gives us neither special status nor expertise, by the way; it only means we're "on the ground" here. Our forum is intended as a resource where all folks can help each other out, with info or insight gained from experience, with enthusiasm and support.
